I agree. Don't like the current trend where they try to make all the cars of a particular brand look the same in the front. I think the cars lose their individuality.

Nissan didn't just make the front of the Sentra look like the Altima, they just said the heck with it, lets just copy the Altima and shrink it down a bit. From a distance, It's hard to tell them apart. Lame.

6 speed in the non-ST trim. Check. Rear bumper cut out for exhaust. Check. Fusion/Aston Martin grill. Check.

I don't think the US will get the 6 speed manual.

Or be likely to get the wagon or a diesel. Ford truly global? No, never. Here's why- emissions. The emissions standards for passenger car diesels would require too much to convert the European diesels to the US market. The reason the wagon isn't brought to the US? It would remain a specialty vehicle and the price would be as high as an ST. In 05 when I ordered my wagon, it cost more than a new 04 SVT would've cost me.

Not offering a manual transmission in every trim level also showed how disconnected Ford leadership is from what the public really wants. They thought we'd want sedans- we prefer hatches. They thought we'd all want to drive a DCT. They were wrong. They don't think we like the color green so they make everything grayscale, blue, or red. Then in the '14 YM, there are a few cars available in green. If Alan Mually is really the turnaround guy that he seems to be, he should take executive advice from everyone who knows "the market" at Ford and do the opposite if it's financially viable.

Your 2005 wagon was not the one offered in Europe and that power train wasn't even available in the EU...

Also the Mk 3 may not have originally offered a manual on every trim level but after a year Ford made it available. I have to give then credit for that. With the vast majority of automakers if you're offered a manual at all in the US it's on the base trim only.

I concur, these images were European specification models leaked from the Ford France site by several Russian sites, ergo these do not represent us specification models. There is virtually no chance of the 6 MT being released for the U.S. as they haven't run the power train combination through the U.S. emissions certifications.

I like the wagon, it looks like a Focus and a Volvo V50 had a love child.
Like all the best looking cars from Ford, I would have to move to Europe to buy one.
