Just an update... Ford is covering the slider, gear dog's and synchro due to a factory defect, the synchro had a Crack towards the inside where it indexes on the gear dogs.

I have 181,000 on my MTX-75 with no issues. To the young gentleman who lashed out on double clutching, matching gear speeds before shifting will indeed relieve the synchronizers of the friction, and they will last longer. The better alternative, as mentioned, is to manage RPM responsibly so that all of this discussion is moot.
