well snow tires are going to solve winter traction issues.

but for the most part I have not had issues with my focus in the snow.

yes, i understand that snow tires will work. i am debating on getting a truck 4wd, since i can use it for other areas. I just need/want to know if other owners have issues with traction as i do. I will make a decision on snow tires/2nd auto etc

I spent last winter living in the Summit County area of Colorado, where Vail, Breckenrige, Beaver Creek, Keystone, A-Basin, etc are. I drove all over all winter and had no issues. Tires, Tires, Tires. You don't need a 4x4.

no I don't. i have summer tires that are good for dry and wet conditions, as well as winter tires for snow and cold.

all season tires = suck in winter (less sucky in rain)

I even race my car in the winter. definately don't have traction problems.
