@Whodatxevg; those are impressive times for the newer heavier Focus man, especially considering all you have is a 93 octane tune and a filter. Those are numbers faster than some factory turbo cars I saw at the track. Your car has a lot more hp than my 2.0, VCT, and DI so I am sure that helps as well. You are inspiring me to keep on with natural aspiration. I am just now doing the track thing and my best time was 16.2 at 85MPH (goal was 15.9) with a crappy 60FT time of 2.6. I am trying to figure out my launch as well, it hurts that I do not have a tachometer cluster as well but that is about to change. I just try to take off "normally" without slipping the clutch too much and getting that chirp from 2-3; can't dump the clutch because I will have horrible wheel hop and destroy an axle nor can I slip it too much or I will wear out the clutch so finding that balance is tough especially on low rolling resistance Firestone 15's. Hope to see my 60FT times go down once my driving improves.

i dont agree unless ur trying to slip the clutch and/or you are trying to flat shift the gears. still i feel that your clutch is not hurt at all. -R

@yellowhatch, you're also most likely higher elevation than I am, hurting your times, down in Florida I am at sea level so that helps my car's power output a little bit.
It also took me a LOT of practice to get my 60's down, my first few runs in my car were around 16.8s.

@UltegraSTI, I slip the clutch off the line. That's the only way I've been able to get my 60's down. I do not flat shift, the clutch just doesn't hold on 1-2 shifts. I am thinking the clutch may be glazed.

Orlando speed world is far from sea level, its 330ft above sea level actually.

Yellow what track did you go to? I went to one in my Mustang last year near where you live but forgot the name of it.

Ya, you are the second member to tell me that, I do notice that on a lot of forums I have been on a huge portion of the fast cars are in Florida. I will keep practicing for sure. 16.8 to where you are now is a very nice accomplishment.

The only one in Fayetteville, The Fayetteville Motorsports Park. The next closest one is in Rockingham NC. I might try my luck there but I wouldn't be surprised if my times are worse there as the elevation is even higher.

i dont slip it off the line. neutral drop here. also if u run this much, dont try and find trying to figure out a street tire that is gonna give u somethin diff each time. just put a drag radial on and get consistant, instantly. -R

a 2.2 60 foot is kick ass for street tires and FWD. Without drag radials, I don't think you'll get much faster.
