Factory TB's going bad?!?!

I have been having a problem with the TB in my car "going bad" (according to my dealer) about every 1500 miles! It is in the shop now getting it's 3rd Throttle Body and the car only has 6500 miles on it. The symptoms I was having were idling around 5000 RPM while the car is moving with the clutch dis-engaged and then dropping to a little under 2000 RPM once I slowed down below 15 MPH. THEN, the next morning, the car wouldn't start at all and had to have it towed to the dealership.

I do have a AEM CAI installed, however, I do not believe it is the culprit as the first one "went bad" while I still had the factory air box. Has anyone heard of this problem before? I am concerned because I sure don't want to have to take my car to the dealer every 1500 miles for a new TB and I sure hate to have to spend $250 for an after-market TB. I do not understand how a TB can just "go bad", any ideas?

Yes, however, could not find any reference to this particular problem. It is very strange, it was running just fine and then suddenly it just started to idle way too high, it just doesn't make sence .......

When that's happened, have you tried resetting the computer immediately afterward?
Maybe it isn't the TB at all?
Just shy of 14,000 on mine with no TB problems.
Hmmm.

I'm on my third also. The original and now on my second replacment. I think after my warranty runs out in Oct. I'll break down and get an aftermarket one. I hate spending $250 on something that only gives you like 1hp but anything is better than a sticky T/B. Good luck and I'd look into the same if I were you (you got awhile on your warranty I'd guess).

Yeah, I unplugged the battery for about 15 minutes to reset the ECU and it didn't help at all. Then, when it wouldn't start, I reset the ECU twice and to no avail, it just refused to start, period. I love my SVT but damn, what a pain!!!
