Okay guys, i know there are complaints of the gearing, but he did mine in third. No going back. If the guy says he is gonna do it in third gear. Then he will do it in third gear. Im not gonna question his 15+ years dyno experience if i myself dont know what the heck is going on. Regardless, the numbers are there.

One more thing about my box though, i did a few tuned 0-60 runs with it on, and the airbox lid on. I got an 8.2, 8.0 and 8.0. Throttle was great off the line but the top end (as dyn085 had let me know) was being sacrificed. So i am running with lid off and am gonna do some runs. The top end feels better with it off for sure. But only times will tell. Updates coming soon. Also need to datalog for my custom tune.

In most cars 4th is 1-1 yes

Why do it in 4th where the speeds go higher , you longer in the rpm, things heat up more etc etc when doing it in 3rd is just a little less HP for bragging rights but in the end has the same results showing 3rd stock to 3rd with a tune ?

I tune for the driveability , idle , safety and in the end it adds performance that a bonus so I will let the tuners that like to flash there highest dyno gain knowing not all Foci will reach this numbers and keep mine safe and be honest with the customers

I think jose was dynoing for HP as well, so 1:1 would have given him
That. I agree that the same data logging can be obtained through third gear though. Wasn't questioning that.

I received my custom tune. Wow what a difference! I am gonna be working with tom soon to see what we can do to turn this dct intoba selectdshift though

First off,

Thanks for taking the time to not only do all this but taking the time to write it all up. I know many of us really appreciate it. You stated that you do not have the select shift dct. I understand that there is a 'tune' for that as well? What does that tune do exactly?

Another question for everyone here. Tom briefly touched on the 3rd gear test, but I would really like to know more on why you test in 3rd gear exactly? And lastly, what is the order of events for upgrades? Tune first then intake and exhaust and whatever else? or the other way around?

I love my 2013 SEL, but I wouldn't mind getting a little more out of it.

Yes I can also do the DCT S mode tune , I feel the S mode is there so you can manual shift and shift at what ever rpm you choose to shift it at up to 6500-7000 and it not pre shift before you want it to shift

I have my customers do 3rd gear because it is less abuse on the engine and it juts the job done at a lower MPH for the ones tuning on the street , safety first
