Also, totally agree with not being able to trust the computer on these. I always check my mileage when I fill up. Best I've got so far was on a trip with a favorable elevation drop and got 39.4mpg(almost 500miles to one tank).

www.fuelly.com is a site you can use to track your gas mileage, you can ad your fill-ups from your phone.
Yeah, I am from a very flat area with hardly any elevation changes and here there are a lot of hills and such. I always considered winter a losing situation, it was just difficult to get decent fuel economy. Oddly enough, when I had my 2004 F150 with the 5.4 V8, the best fuel mileage I ever got was running around the hilly/mountainous parts of PA during a camping trip. I definitely wasn't going slow either, I guess all of the downhill coasting portions made up for the hammer down uphill portions.

My 2011 gets better mileage in rolling hills on state highways than on the freeway at 55.

I can usually hit 40-42 in the summer pretty easily. Winter isn't so easy with colder temperatures and heavy, open lug, studded snow tires.

I'm driving a 2010 and I'm only getting around 23.3 MPG driving mostly city. The highest I had it up to since I bought it was 28 doing mostly highway.

TBH I don't really know why it's so low, I don't think I drive that crazy but I guess not lol

I've been getting low twenties since I moved to Auburn, 95% city driving. I got on the highway yesterday and my fuel mileage went up to like 28 mpg going 80 mph.

I wonder why yours is so much lower than the rest of us. Even at 80mph I get 35+mpg

That's because I was on the highway for maybe five minutes. If I had to get on the highway everyday like I did when I lived in Maryland, I'd be averaging around 36-38 mpg.

My fuelly average over the past 10 months is exactly 30mpg; right on target for the EPA combined average.

On the highway during the summers it's not unusual to average 40+ on my 4 hour trip to visit family.

I've never gotten worse than 32mpg on the highway. That's with a load of people/stuff and running the AC.

The car is lowered, I run copper spark plugs, K&N air filter, lunchbox removed. I run stock wheels size 215/45-17 summer tires when it's nice and stock wheels size 205/55-16 all-season tires in the winter.

Mine is terrible. 24mpg. I might get above that but it's rare. 2.3L likes to chew on dinosaurs. Wish it were a 2.0L. I don't care about the extra power anymore. I just like the extra ST stuff like the ass warmers, sunroof and rear discs.
