Question Pre-Tom's Turbo

Ok Lets say I wanted to put toms turbo kit on my ZX3 down the road as a capstone of my upgrades. It is a daily driver and I don't have endless funds... my question is... what upgrades should I do before I get the turbo... I don't want to waste any money moving in the wrong direction...

I once posed the same question to Tom. Here is verbatim the email I sent Tom:

Quote:
I have recently gotten the bug to go FI with my 2003 Ford Focus. I've
been thinking about laying out my budget and timeline. I would like your
opinion on things to think about. I was thinking of trying out your Stage
1 turbo kit. My car in an automatic so I know I will need to replace my
transmission to one that can handle the power. I also know it's a good
idea to purchase a larger diameter exhaust. I'm also aware that I will
need to budget for a chip and tune. What else is there that I haven't
considered? Are their parts on included in the kit I should seriously
consider? Are there more parts I should consider having on the car to
beef it up before I turbo? Do you have any reccomended readings? I
apologise if some of my questioning is a little vague. I'm very new at
this so my inexperiance is probably glaring.
Here is the reply I got from Tom:

Quote:
The STG1 kit will work great for the ATX and nothing other than what you
covered will be needed
Enjoy!

I'm sure that his kits will work with no other additions, but it will take me some time to get the money together for the kit. I am planing on aloting some money along the way for smaller projects. I want to know what projects would be most worth my wild...
