Headlight adjustment

Hi,

I have recently bought a Focus 1.8 zetec and noticed one headlight beam is slightly higher than the other.
Is there any screws or levers to manually adjust the height of your headlight beams?

cheers

Yes there is, there should be a 'white' hex shaped screw at the top of the headlight housing that you can tighten and loosen thus moving the headlight up and down. The best way to do it is park the car so it's pointing at a wall (front towards a wall or garage), turn the lights on and adjust the headlight's beam so they are both level.

Dealerships as well as oil change bays will do this for you also (usually for free).

The right side headlight is normally aimed a little higher and to the right. If this is the one you're concerned about its probably correctly aimed. The left light should point straight ahead and down a little.

There wasn't a 1.8 ZETEC here in North America so he's more then likely from Europe so depending on which side of the road they drive on in that country, it could be the left.
