What is it doing?

Trans could of been rebuilt, what parts are they re-using?

I bought a Camaro Z28 last Febuary that had 9 transmissions put in it because they all kept blowing. When I bought it I pulled the trans and went through it and it was the valve body that was bad, and they just kept re-using it. I replaced it and ran the piss outta it for about 5 months until I sold it for the Focus I have now .

Automatic or manual transmission? And where did you get it? Was it rebuilt or used? Referring to the second transmission of course.

My trans has 255,000 miles on it, changed the clutch at 230k. 2cd gear has been grinding for 5 years. The MTX is a beast. I would swap the auto for a Manuel , you can find one for next to nothing on Craigslist . The Automatics are Death. They just don't perform we'll in the focus performance wise or mechanicalyl . I've owned 2 of them.

First question is the best, more get relatively minor repair (solenoids/harness) than need replacement because worn out/major failure.

Junkyard one might have been used commercially, prob. never had any maint..

Can't comment on how common the issue, without knowing what it was.

Luck!
