Chrome exhaust tip install issue

Bought one of these
http://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Exha...pr_product_top

The "B" type. Should be easy enough to install...just slide it on as far as it goes and tighten the bolts. Problem is that tightening the bolts doesn't really tighten the "fit". After tightening both sides I can easily pull it off with out much force.

Has anyone installed one of these?

I feel like an idiot for not being able to figure this out.

I had one and it fell of one day while driving. I got it off ebay for 11shipped. I would recomend just going to a shop and getting a tip welded on.

is there only two screws? my old lancer had a factory chrome tip on it that I took off when I removed the muffler. if there is only two screws then you will need to measure your exhaust and get a small pipe that fits over your exhaust either weld it in place or epoxy it to the exhaust pipe then once cured you could then bolt the tip on to that. its just an idea. hopefully it works

Yes there are only two screws.. some of the pics on the listing show it having 3 screws..it's from China. Seems well made but I just cant see how those two screws with bolts are supposed to hold it in place.

There's a Youtube video of some kid installing another type with similar screw and bolts setup. All he did was tighten the bolts. Unless i'm missing something super obvious here...

I don't see anything with only 2 bolts being able to stay on securely.

I had a similar model that I bought from an eBay seller in China. If I remember correctly, you had to adjust the nuts, then tighten the bolts with an allen wrench.

I'm fairly sure it was three bolts though, not two...

Thanks. I didn't even notice the allen wrench part on the end of the bolts. Tightened them up and then the nuts and it is on there pretty tight.

And yes there are only 2 not 3. Hopefully it wont fall off..I will check it after a few days to make sure the nuts are still tight.

I can post pics if anyone wants to see what it looks like.

I have this same model, and it was 3 screws which "clamp" the unit to your existing tailpipe.

Just a word of caution, but this exhaust tip discolors and rusts in a matter of months. It's not made out of stainless steel. I'll probably just paint mine black until I work up the cheddar for a new exhaust entirely.

I'd like to see it, I like seeing the different things people do to their cars, good or not
