Jumping in 2nd?

When I'm in second and roughly between 20 and 30mph the engine revs kinda jump up and down like it would if you were going too slow, but I'm not, if I start in 2nd it goes fine until I get to about 20, then jumps around, then once I'm over 30 or so it's fine. Also if I'm hard on the gas it's pretty much un noticable. Only does this in 2nd as ar as I've noticed. Any ideas why? I can't think of anything -.-

I had a similar issue (not in a Focus) where the fuel pump was going and it was starving the car for fuel. But it would happen in any gear once i entered a steady throttle setting/speed. Your issue sounds different.

Traction control maybe?
Not sure how long you've had the car and what's new to you.

Anything I can think of just doesn't fit. A problem at a single MPH range and gear is just odd. T/C is the only thing I can muster.

I'll try driving with it on/off see if there's a difference. Is it possible it's just kinda something this particular car does?

does it happen regardless of engine temps? or only when the engine is cold?

It'll happen whenever. Sometimes it won't even do it, very rarely though. Only reason it really bugs me so much is it makes a really annoying sound considering I have the Race exhaust lol

Is it possible that this is the surging that the SVT has with a stock tune? That description is similar to what I feel with light pedal pressure in several gears. A Tom's Tune is supposed to take care of that.

Same thing in my 100% stock SVT. I think it is just the crappy tune.

So, I have a slight update on this that may help, when the car is cold it now jumps like it would always in second, but now also does it in third and much worse, the only way I can avoid it when the car is cold is to floor it or upshift. Once it's warm it's back to only jumping in second, and if I'm VERY light on the throttle or floor it it won't jump. Any new ideas from you guys? I was thinking of cleaning out the intake but it won't stop raining here
