It had a symbol on it that looked like a parking lamp. I flipped it on and off a couple times nothing happened I forgot about it.

I had intended to look it up online but I forgot. Well I scheduled time in my inlaws garage to work on it today, while I was sitting in the car waiting for the car to warm up I looked it up. Subaru put it there so that your tail lights stay on when the car is off i guess if you would find your self off the road or something. Your suppose to turn the car on then flip the switch on.

Apparently if you mess with it, with the car off, it puts the lights out of sequence and they dont work at all. I started the car flipped the switch and sure enough lights, i flipped it back off now they work normally. I tried several times. Everything works fine now.

My '07 has that switch. Never mess with it really but I ended up figuring it out while I was waiting for someone in a parking lot one day.

I love my Focus but all these Subaru posts do make me miss mine a little bit. For nostalgia's sake, here are two of mine.

The first one was a 1995 Legacy L Outback. This was back when the Outback was a simple appearance package added to the L trim, incorporating some of the options of the uplevel LS and LSi trims. But aside from that it was literally just a sticker, different upholstery, and the now iconic two tone paint job. The lift kit, giant fog lights, and hood scoop from the twin turbo weren't added until later years. But even as is, it was arguably the humble beginning of the current "crossover" SUV trend.

Several years later I finally got my hands on another 2nd generation Legacy, although my ownership of it was very short lived thanks to the suicidal deer population. This was a 1997 Legacy 2.5GT. I loved it despite the ridiculously short gearing that had the engine spinning close to 4000RPM at typical interstate speeds. The hood scoop and rear wing bisecting the view out the back made me a constant red light target of kids in Civics though, and without the power of the twin turbo they were intended for, it always felt a bit too slow, even if it handled very well for such an old car.

I saw this one day and I'm dead set on building something like this in the next 10 years.

That's where it's at right there! I had intended to go in that direction with the 2.5GT when it met an unfortunate end. I had local guys lined up to help with a turbo swap and basically just had to source a bunch of random Impreza and Legacy parts to get the look I wanted.

I was going to try to find another one, but a friend sold me a perfectly running Cutlass for $600 and as I was unemployed at the time, I had to put my car dreams on hold for a while. I'm still hoping to score a rust free Impreza or Legacy of that era someday when I have a space to store and work on it.

So I meet this dude on line through the Mazda fb page he has a rx8. Come to find out also drives a gc for a winter beater and he lives less than a hour from me.

Been talking to him all day about other cars we owned, we exchanged numbers, if the weather is fair next weekend. I'm meeting up with him he's giving me his front bumper cover for the price of lunch and to help him install his new one.

So stoked.

His his beater. That bumper will be mine next weekend. Minus the home made light bar and lights of course.

So as mentioned above I was suppose to get a bumper, but I haven't had time to go get it. So no bumper yet.

Today I drilled holes in the passenger side door to fit the 97 door card on a 99-00 door. I got tired of it falling off when some tried to close the door. I have the door card for that door too but it don't match the other side.

I took lots of pics and finally did a video of the aftermarket exhaust on that came on it too.
