Well technically I'll only be partially happy with an ST1. Because I wanted the partial leather Recaros and MyFord Touch because it gave the interior a much more upscale and premium look to it and I loved all the gadgets and gimmicks it had. I guess I could live without it.

It'll be better than getting an SE though that's for sure. I guess 4-8 weeks isn't that bad. But I'd have to order it within the next or so if that's the case... To get it by March I mean.

Good things come to those who wait.

This isn't to exclude the deals that sometimes come up where you need to be quick on the draw, but in general patience pays off when looking for cars.

Wow....That's a lot of Darts!

Not sure if you're allowed to answer this here(or PM me), but did you like anything about the Dart's drive, handling or engine performance compared to any Focus?

We all have enjoyed driving the RT/GT's. They get up and go for sure. I've never gotten the chance to drive an ST =/

I don't really know how to compare it and don't think you really should. I really like focus, and 1/4 mile time wise the dart guys are behind. from a quick search the GT's are still in the 15-16 range.

Meanwhile: there isn't an ST that has trouble holding a low 15 and plenty are deep in the 13's.

Handling: darts sit low so it got that going for it. I've never driven around an ST so I can't compare.

That being said, I don't think i'd buy any newer focus other than an ST, and if I needed a newer car I might chose a dart over a normal focus. The 6 speed isn't half bad and fun for me to drive, the 2.0 n/a motors make it feel like a really nice neon. The little 1.4 turbos I still don't know what to think, they are too laggy for my taste but you should see some decent gas milage on the highway like the jettas/golfs used to be the only game for turbo'd gas mileage.

Edit: you should also know I've owned 3 focus (sedan zetec, ZX3, SVT), 2 escorts(96, and a zx2), my dad has had 2 focus(zx3 which I own and a 2012 hatch), and my brother has 1(ST06), and my mom has had her last 3 vehicles brand new fords, 90's taurus, 99 windstar, and now an 09 fusion...

Trying to be fair, I feel if you really want to know more about the dart pm me. Most of the info is available if you dig a little though.

You can qualify for a X-plan in a lot of ways. A Ford employee can give you a PIN (they get X per year to hand out). If the company you work for is a partner of Ford in some way, you may be eligible. Or you can gain eligibility from a club membership (such as SVTOA, or even odder connections like the EAA). Or, you can qualify by owning at least 100 shares of Ford stock for at least six months.

A/Z, D, and X have different pricing formulas, with A/Z being the best.

So "X" would probably be the way to go then. That solves my plan mystery then... Hopefully some new car will be sitting in my driveway in a month or so. I'm really overly excited at the chance to drive my own Focus! I was at the NAIAS this afternoon and my Dad has told me he likes the lower MSRP of the Fiesta ST which annoys me because I don't want him to change his mind or get any ideas...

Can you comment on how frequent and the amount that the typical dealer cash for an SE Focus typically is?
