To stripe or not to stripe.

I saw one of the new st models with the black stripes on the tangerine color and I'm really liking it and thinking about doing the same to my car. Just wanted to see if anyone else had opinions one way or the other towards it. I just worry adding stripes would be a little overboard with how it already looks. I'm trying to keep with a general black an yellow scheme.

I did my own over the summer. I think I paid $40.00 for a 24"x10' roll of matte black. Ready made vinyl stripe kits are way too expensive for me. There were a few spots I couldn't do with vinyl. I used some black plasti dip that matched perfectly.

Whats the point of sticking crap to the exterior of the car? The only attention you will get is from ricers and cops. Just leave it the way it is and put the money under the hood or in the chassis, instead of turning into a rolling joke.

My thoughts exactly, but no-one seems to like to hear the truth around here anymore.......

Try plastidipping stripes on first and see if you like them. Cheap and easy to remove when you get sick of them.

The truth according to who? Everyone is entitled to their opinion and idea. Just because it's something that you don't like, it does not mean it is bad or wrong.

Could always plastidip the hood and call it carbon fiber.
What are those mudflaps? They're gorgeous.

Not sure of those brand of mud flaps but I know Rally Armor and various other companies make them as well. Just use your Google Fu and I am sure you can find something to your liking.

Well you had stated that no one likes to hear the truth...so do tell what is the truth that you tell of? To you, it may look hideous, but to others it could be something that they like. Personally, I have never been a fan of stripes on cars, but I am also not going to diminish someone else's creativity. That's not my place nor is it yours. Just say that you don't like it, and move along. Simple as that.

Now, let's keep this thread on the subject.
