Sorry, I missed that question in your response. lol. But yeah, pretty much what Smokey said. I ended up trying my local Ford dealer to get it cut, they asked $5 but ended up doing it for free. But yeah, a good locksmith or key shop would be just fine. Programming the key and the remote is wicked easy as long as you have two existing keys, so you could do that on your own (In the owner's manual: pg 81 or 82 for the remote, pg 84 or 85-86 for the key). Took me 1 minute to do.

So I should probably wait and see if the remote programs before I get it cut? My friend's dad runs a locksmith shop so I won't be paying too much if anything haha. Very cool. I ordered it, it says expected delivery is the 1st.

So I finally got the chance to program the new key fob, and it does indeed work! I haven't tested the trunk button yet, which I actually forgot about until just now. The only disappointment I have is that they key doesn't have a Ford logo on it. No idea what I'm gonna do about that. Next step is to get the key cut and hope that it'll accept the key too.

Should work fine on the trunk, the chip in the key should work since its 80 bit . The locksmith will test the chip in the key and the device will tell them what type chip is in it before they attempt to program. In fact it might be a multiple manufacturer type chip programmable for different makes of vehicles!

My friends parents run a locksmith shop so they just did it for me. The car accepted the key no problem. It does feel a bit cheap turning it in the ignition though. The trunk button works on one press rather than two, which with the design I can totally understand why it requires two presses. I have popped the trunk about four times putting the key into my pocket. Also, another big negative for me is the fact that it lacks a Ford logo, which isn't shown in the picture. It also doesn't have the same design as the legit Ford fob, so I can't just steal the back off of another key at work on a trade in lol. I'm probably going to keep it for a bit but I can see it being annoying and might just go back to having both the fob and the key because I'm a bit nervous with this key unlocking my car or something while I walk away and it's in my pocket.

Yup it does. I'd advise getting one from Ford, the ebay key was cheesy, really easy to pop the trunk/unlock the doors when putting it in the pocket and such. The key from Ford (cut included I'm sure) was like $92 with tax for me.

You'll be able to find OEM versions on eBay for less than $92 I'm sure. Then you can have them cut at any hardware store, as long as you trust them with your high dollar key.

I got an eBay version for $30 but it was cheap feeling and differently set up than the actual Ford one. No logo either.
