Your options are to paint over the current moldings, sand them smooth then paint, or buy S2/SVT side moldings that are already smooth, and have them painted.

Hey Man,

The only way to get painted moldings is to find a wrecked SVT zx3 in your color or have a body shop paint them for you, i have been wanting painted moldings on my car also so i have looked into everything

Your stock molding can be painted, There are many people that have done it. SVT specific moldings are not needed. You can even do this yourself by sanding the molding smooth, spary adhesive promoter, primer, color, clear. Its not to hard just takes some time.

I guess that would work if they made an SVTF or S2 in yellow.

Also, the set of colored moldings will set you back about $200.

Some people have painted them on the car too.

It's just a matter of what technique you want to use to paint them.

Either way, use some good elastic primer and fine sand the molding before painting.

Thanks for great tips. I personally will not waste $200 for color moldings, It will cost me less to get it profesionally painted, with the new mirrors.

Another option is to go to the junk yard and take the moldings off of a wreched Focus and then take them to a shop and have them painted.

Then sell someone here your old/unpainted moldings. I'm sure someone will buy them.
