Ok so easiest way to get obx header on an mk3 is as follows

1.) remove plastic cover under windshield

2.) remove the shitty metal brace under the car under the header

3.) remove heat shield off header

3.) remove all the nuts off the head studs of the header

4.) remove all bolts on header bracket that connect it to the engine block

5.) remove the bolts off the exhaust flange that connects to the header

6.) remove rear engine motor mount

7.) get a friend and crow bar to pry engine forward then wiggle and squirm then cuss and scream and keep going I ended up having mine do a complete 180 before it came out from underneath. This is by far the hardest part and ridiculous. I eventually dropped the sub frame cause it seemed Easier.

8.) put on the new header. Finger tighten all the bolts to the head studs

9.) put the second part of the header with the flex pipe onto the header with gasket in-between the flanges. Also leave the bolts very loose it helps out a lot later.

10.) connect the last part of the flange to the factory or aftermarket exhaust.

11.) ok here is the trick the 4 bolts on the flex pipe need to be all slowly tightened together so like 4 or five turns then hit the next one and do four or five more turns keep this up till it's all 100% tightened.

12.) retighten the head stud bolts I
Put everything at 32ft lbs with a torque wrench

13.) use a 2007 Porsche boxer 2.7l before cat O2 sensor in the oxygen sensor bung. It clicks in perfectly to fords wiring harness and is long enough to travel to the collector of the header.

14.) I deleted the secondary o2 sensor but if u dont want to I recommend getting an o2 sensor cheater and welding a bung behind the header on the factory exhaust.

Sorry I have no picks guys but if any one wants to tackle this and gets stumped pm me your name and number and I will help u with it best I can on The phone. Fyi this is a pain so if u have a friend to help it will go faster and seem like less of a pain. It took me 6 hours to do this but if I had to redo it I could easily do it In under 2 hours so info and experience help a lot and a buddy helps too. Btw built by Budweiser isn't the way to go either I stopped drinking like an hour into this build cause it was kicking my butt.

Just wanting to brag about my full 2.5" exhaust and header set up. It's running rich you can smell it on a cold start up needs a tune. Sounds awesome! Kinda loud and drones at like 5000 Rpms plus but other then that it's perfect. Snap crackles and pops on down shifts I love it lol. It is so worth all the pain from the other day lol.

Does tom tune if you don't buy his sct? I have one In storage from my old mustang? Just hoping it's the x3 not the previous modle flash tuner.

Might as well get a new one, out of date (guess) & locked to a different car - unlocking prob. isn't worth the cost.

Tom lists the price if you already have a tuner that works for your car ($150 I think) for people who bought one of the two types he uses. He's not out to sell an additional tuner to folks who ran out & bought one B4 learning about custom tuning.

There's a link to his Duratec TI-VCT thread.

Look in the "tuning section" and the Focuspower section for more general info.

Red face Power time

Pulled my flash tuner out of my box of old mustang stuff. Now it's time to see if I can get a tune from tom.
