EAP Owners: Heated Seat Switch?

Does anyone know the replacement part # of the defective heated seat switchs? My passenger switch is stuck on and the dealer keeps coming up with the same part number. Has anyone else had any luck resolving this? If this is a repeat thread...please point me the way. Thanks

By stuck do you mean it's now on all the time? Just curious.

AFAIK, they've never come out with new switches.
The Dealer has tried another switch, and you still get the same results?

seat switches

My switch is stuck on. It is alright now for the winter but I want it fixed before summer gets here. You keep pushing the button and it will not shut off. You can wedge a coin to keep it off but why should I have to. My dealer said that the same switch has been used in other Ford vehicles but they only fail when mounted in a flat position such as ours in the middle of the console. My buddy has the same switch mounted on the side of his '03 Excursion and he has not had any problems.

My driver's side switch is doing the same thing. My heating element has been on constantly for the last three weeks. The dealer was supposed to replace it, but apparantly they are on backorder. I have been waiting a week since this discovery to hear news that it has come in and I can stop having my a$$ constantly set on fire.

I wish you luck in getting your passenger one fixed, I, however, am probably going to start pulling fuses or cutting wires as soon as the weather gets warm.

I am really surprised no one else has had this problem.

I've got the same problem on my passenger side seat. If I push the button about 20-30 times it will finally shut off. When I take the car in for service next I'll have them fix it, or try to at this point. Until then my wife will have to suffer with perpetually toasty buns. I really didn't think this would be much of an issue to fix but now I'm wondering...

ah my passenger side button is broken too. when i press it, it won't 'click' like the driver side button is. yea i have to press it about 50 times to turn it off. if you can't turn it off just remove the center console piece where the button is at and disconnect the fuse for now. i'll get it fixed at my next oil change.

have you spilled anything on the switch? I wonder if that's why the horizontally mounted switches fail, since they're right next to the cupholders and gravity works against you then.

My drivers side is having the same problem. My fix is just remove the switch, or if you want you can pull the top of the switch off and you should see a little cylindrical piece of plastic on the switch button matching up with another part in the housing. If you press that down you will be able to turn off the switch directly. It almost appears that the protruding piece from the button cover wears down and doesnt fully depress the switch inside the button housing. Not sure how much sense that all makes, but it makes perfect sense to me.

oh that reminds me i need to get one also
