When getting from any gear into first you have to slow down to speed like 2-3 km/h.
Otherwise you'll destroy gearbox.

double clutching is pointless on a car with syncros.

double clutching is for syncroless transmissions.

stop watching fast and furious

we had syncro problems on our lt for a while now. it started with a mechanic putting in oil that met all the requirements. it was about 3,000 km before I could change it out. since then another mechanic was directed to put only genuine oil in there. nothing changed in performance at all. that oil stayed in there for 5,000 km before it drove me nuts (moreso the whining from the wife). so I returned to the mechanic and eventually I got it out of him that "ford don't even use their own oil" for that application, so I asked him to get it in specially. I wont go into the local ford dealer (we'll get back to that later) so they got it in, drained the old po0p, new oil. it was marginally better but still really $hit for a car that only has 35,000 odd km on it. the synchros feel like the wrong oil made them tacky like a planetary oil or similar (straight-cut gears) has been used, and they just don't slide quick enough. I will never recommend taking your car to ford unless it's warranty. I got a list a mile long of why. no more.
