Whats the value of SVT Focus parts to do a swap?

Hey guys, just wondering what kinda money I could get from dropping the front cradle and selling it; Engine, trans, front suspension, cradle, wiring harness and ECU. $4,000? More??

We're thinking of doing a V8 swap (4V Mod Motor) with Cobra IRS in my Focus...just wondering what sorta money I could get back to put towards the swap...

I'd be pleased with the 2.5V6 from a Contour SVT too...twiny twin twin turbos...heh..

good luck fitting turbos in there with the contour engine. there isn't enough room on a contour for turbos, and I highly doubt there will be enough room with the contour motor. I'd do the V8 swap if I were you, but I would use the new 3v 4.6. that variable cam timing screams "TUNE ME". as far as the cobra IRS...save your money on that one, do a solid axle. the cobra IRS is junk on the cobra, it'll be junk on a RWD focus. spend a little more on suspension and you'll be able to hand almost as well as the IRS, and you'll easily out accelerate it

Well, the IRS would be a snap to get becuase we're converting our shops Cobra to a solid rear. So, we'll have the IRS just collecting dust. I dont really drag race much either, so...

...I dunno, so many ideas, I just hate to dismantle an SVTF...know what I mean?

well, if you have the IRS just laying around, then that's an easy option. I just think that with all the difficulties that people had getting stock cobras to hook up on the IRS, it wouldn't be worth the extra handling if you couldn't get it to hook in the focus.

I would say you could get about 4000 for your front end...But i would suggest keeping the SVT and doing all the work to a 2000 or something with a blown motor that you could pick up cheap...

$4000 a bit high.........I would say around $2500-$3000.........Also, there is enough room for turbos........trust me, I know first hand of the clearance on a 2.5 focus

yeah, don't dismantle the svt bro. get a cheap zx3 and use that, then you can still have the svt AND a v8 focus.

You know, I could swear you posted this same question under a different thread yesterday and got the same advice, but I could be wrong.

Don't dismantle the SVT.
