HKS Catback

Found this catback locally, came off a Focus SVT Zetec hatch. Before I pull the trigger does anyone know if this HKS exhaust will directly bolt up to my 2006 Duratec ZX3? This can save me a ton of money on a catback if so! Thanks in advance.

It might, as far as the difference where the flex ends w/ a zetec & D-tech. That'd be your issue. What do you have to pay for that? Myself I'd pass= to ricey for me.

Yeah I am not a fan of the muffler portion of that myself, however I just thought it would be a cheap way to get a 2.5 mandrel exhaust lol. The price is $100, I won't get it unless I know it bolts up 100% no modifications.

I had a SVT MBRP on my 07 d20. Id bet money that the HKS would bolt up fine. You run into fitment issues when the muffler next to the gas tank is oval (zetecs used a smaller tank and had more room).

Went ahead and pulled the trigger, got it for a deal I could not refuse. Can't wait to bolt it up! I am guessing it is Tom's tune time after this?

Well finally bolted up my HKS. Did new gaskets, bolts, and hit the whole exhaust with flat bbq black paint. I will post more pictures when there is daylight. Was fairly easy, having no lift made it take longer than it should have. By the way there is absolutely nothing ricey about this exhaust, it looks sharp installed, bolted up perfectly, and has no raspyness whatsoever. It was so quiet it idled like I had the stock exhaust (if not quieter) but when you step on it you get a nice deep growl.

However; I believe I really need a tune now. The car seems to have lost all of its low end while mids and highs increased. It changed the dynamics of the car completely so I believe this is where the stock tune finally starts giving out and things start to lean. Tom's tune is definitely around the corner. Did anyone else's car loose low end dramatically after upgrading to a performance exhaust before a tune?



EDIT: Thought I would post a picture of my newly installed Focus Central TB as well. Nice to have a part from an oldschool company that no longer is in business. Adds a nice touch. :)
