You said 19900 plus tax/tags, it says 22k on the invoice... 17900 is a grand LESS than I paid for my used 2012 Ti...

That price is nice, the not so nice part is the punishment you are taking on the trade. Either keep the SE for a year or 2 longer and save up some cash or sell the SE outright...

I managed to pull 1.79% finance with almost no credit history and this is my first car loan and I still have student loans out there. He worked a long time to get a low rate, called a bunch of places. Join a credit union. Mine offers 2.49 and he was able to best that. Saved me a couple bucks a month.

No one knows his credit 12.99 may be a good rate for him it's hard to say. Also dealers do pre-adds, it's the business and Auto Nation is notorious for it across the country. You don't have to buy the protection or nitro especially on X plan.

If his credit is bad then making this purchase is even worse an idea since he will still be paying thru the nose. I'd wait since Focus resale values suck and that will bleed over to the STs if you want a slightly used model.

Strictly playing Devil's Advocate, but it's up to you to decide whether the monthly payments that you're looking at are going to be worth it for you to be in a ST. I don't know or care to know your finances, but don't forget that your insurance will most likely go up too (at least some degree) along with your fuel costs.

At the very least I would refuse to pay the 'appearance protection', nitrogen, and 'theft protection' outright. If they won't budge on those I wouldn't even begin trying to negotiate on the rest. There is still a lot of wiggle room on that sheet.

This is a projection without credit checking. And yeah its way to high. i was under the impression when you pay a car off through the dealer as a trade like this you only pay the principal of loan which would be what i paid for the car 15,500. Im going to call the bank and see if i can work it out. The price on the ST is OK i think, its an ST1. But rolling the finance charge back in on top of another finance charge and the 2k down????? Hell No!

You're going to be taking a loss regardless.

The numbers look about right though. I would highly, highly think about this. As you'll be paying an absurd amount for a ST1. You'll be even farther under water even with it when it comes time to trade it in etc. unless you pay off the difference between what it's really worth and what you paid.
