Trading a 2014 focus SE for an ST?

So in September i bought a 2014 TB focus Se from the local ford dealer. Now i'm really thinking i should've bought an St. Don't get me wrong i like my Se but if i'm going to stick with a payment id be more happy with an ST. So my question is does anyone have experence trading one car for another? I paid 18,900 out the door. I know the st will be a little.

Have you ever bought a car then sold it within the year.. You take a BATH on lost money.
But if you really really do not care about the money side of it too much, then go for it.
You may get lucky..

I traded my '12 SEL in for my '12 Ti with right around 1100 miles. Basically I had it for roughly a little more than a month I think.

Just like Elizabeth said, plan on losing a lot of money. Most dealerships will be more than happy to work a trade for you, but it's going to come out of your wallet. I probably own the most expensive normally-aspirated Focus ever.

To me it was more than worth it to take the financial hit and get into the car I wanted. Only you are going to know if the options that your dealership offer are worth it to you or not. It doesn't hurt to find out, and if the numbers don't work for you then just walk away.

I don't remember exactly, but I'm sure it was pretty significant. I also let them tack in all the extra crap like the extended warranty and whatnot. I don't think I had actually even made my first payment on the car yet.

You should cancel the extended warranty. You have 30 days to cut it 100% and the money is credited to your payments.
Then go and buy an extended warranty from one of the online dealers who discount it.
You will save at least $800.
Seriously they can sell the exact same one for HALF what you paid and still make a profit.
It is easy to just go to financial guy who sold it to you and tell him you are cancelling the extended warranty.
As long as it is in the first 30 days zero loss. And they HAVE to cancel it, and give you teh refund in full(on your loan)
After that it is prorated.. but I do not know how you could lose much in one month.

Yikes, that payment is more than I make on my STI.

Keep it for a while and buy an ST down the road and maybe the 2014 ST will get some upgrades and maybe some more ponies or maybe by '15 but it might be worth driving your SE for a while.
