I answered the Poll a year or 2 back with Kumhos ...

But recently, I have really enjoyed my Hankook RS3s for AutoX-ing and my Yokohama S.Drives for daily use.

My former ride, a Contour SVT was eatingtires.
Using Summer only AAA traction did not help matters.
So i had" OE BF Goodrich great tires cornered like on rails. noisy
Pirelli: PZero Nero Ok no complaints except soft sidewalls.
Goodyear: F1 no longer made in size I used. Good.
Now Conti is hot. #1 for a replacement for my Focus.
I may buy some just to have them around.

I would say it depend's on where you live. If you see any kind of snow or ice your limited w/ A/S tire's vs year round summer tire's. Summer only tire's= Dunlop's Star spec or Sport maxx. A/S tire's = Cont's DWS's!

Some are unfairly crap because they are used in a manner other than their design and have poor performance ( ie. Eagle F1's in the snow). If you are rating the OE tires that came on your car you are judging middle of the road tires that the auto co. got in bulk to work for the masses not the individual enthusiest.

If you run all season tires which most of you have mentioned you are getting average performance of everything and exceptional nothing so don't expect it!
**One last word of advice - Your tires are the single best saftey feature you have on your car. If they don't stick you don't go, you don't stop you don't have control. All from something that is mearly held to your car buy air! Think about that the next time your looking for the cheapest tire you can get!
This is the only guy who knows anything about tires.... in all the post here!

Toyo and Nitto should be grouped together, seeing as how Toyo owns Nitto. Hell, a lot of their tires are all manufactured in the same plants.

I personally have no particular preference, any NAME BRAND is going to make an awesome tire, you just have to know what you're going to use it for and the climate you're going to be driving in. In my area, there's no need for an All-Season tire. I stick to Summer Tires on both my car and my G/F's. I have Bridgestone Potenza RE760's on my MX6, and Continental Extreme Contact DW on my G/F's '09 Focus SES. Both are awesome tires.

Make an intelligent decision selecting your tires, and you'll like whatever you put on. It irks me to no end when people complain about their tires when they use them for purposes outside of its function, or complain that their tires wore out too fast and equate that to it being a bad tire.

i am not sure, but i read that michelin purchased uniroyal. uniroyal tiger paws and michelin pilots are the same. regardless, i have four un iroyal tiger paws and they improved the car. spent 500 dollars, but they have 80,000 warranty and show very little wear after 10,000 miles.

i bought my focus zx5 two months ago. it has hancook ventus. seems fine. my kia forte had c rappy nexens. i replaced them with uniroyal tiger paws. fantastic. michelin owns uniroyal now. they were 500 for a set of four. 80000 mile warranty. they have 10000on them, and they still look new. changed the kia into a very nice ride. amazing.

Michelin bought Uniroyal and BFG in the late 1980's. It's not a recent occurrence.
