At 30,000 miles the Cooper CS 4s are nearly down to the wear bars. Dry traction is still great, but wet grip is decreased due to shallow voids. They are still quiet, except now on deeply pitted or grooved surfaces there is some noise. I will buy another set.

The only performance tire experience I have it the 225/50/16's on my Shadow. They were Kumho Ecsta AST's that were completely bald. But I would say that they best to me now is either The Dunlops or BFGoodrich.

has anybody heard of Maxxis tires. the local gateway tire and battery shop is recommending them to me to replace my current Pirelli P6 stockers. I don't have a clue except I read they were european in origin and they are big or so I was told on the drifting scene.. so any help is appreciated since i am in desperate need of tires...

or i was looking into the bfg g-force SS A/S h/v, but he said these would be better and the price is a bit lower, but not much and they also have a V rating for speed. said that the maxxis has a stiffer sidewall than the g-force tires as well..

thanks again for any help

I prefer to buy Kelly tires. They were great for my K5 and they're awesome on my Sierra 1500, Now Im trying to find a set of Navigator touring golds for the car. Probly the only brand of tire i'll ever buy.

I personally have had good experiences with a number of tire brands, I think it definetly depends on the vehicle & application...

Exclamation

Just bought four Yokohama Avid ENVigor tires, 205/50R16 87V, Treadwear 560, Traction A, and Temperature A. I bought them from Tirerack.

They are made in the USA.

They recommend driving them easy for 500 miles, so I have been gentle.

I'll be out tonight in 2 to 4 inches of snow, so we'll see how the M+S handle it.

It's 700 miles later, very impressed. I DID NOT take the car out in the 20.2 inches of snow, though!
