ya if you want to turbo your car you are going to need more money then that.

Also if you want a kit I know Turbo Tom sells a DIY kit.

I wouldn't touch that ebay kit.....

Where can I find toms kit?? One more question, I got headers and catback exhaust, if I do more of tha little mods and then one of toms tunes would it be worth it? And what can that tune do for auto trans and really what is the results for tuning stock zetec and auto trans in my zts? I may go that route not sure

headers? which one? if its not a SVT kit then there is improvement.

Tom's Kit:
http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=226552

I would look at less of a full build if your wanting a little more power.

I would get a LSD. Get the SVT suspension kit. I would get an air intake. I would pull the head, shave it .010-.020, put in CAMS and adjustable gears. get it dyno tuned. Get a A/F gauge installed and get Tom's tune and fine tune it.

I would still wait to do this until you have your own money. The above will likly be around your $2k price point. $500 for head, $350 for cams, $200 cam gears, $300 for tune?, $200 in gaskets, fluids and other bits you need to pull the head, $200 for gauge, $200 for Dyno time?, $700 for LSD, $250 for SVT suspension, $100 for air intake.

This is assuming you do all labor and you don't brake anything you need to replace.

You are borrowing money. regardless if its from a bank or from family its going into debt unless your family is just giving you the money because they like you.

But it really depends on what all you want to do with the car. do you want more power because you just want it? do you want it to feel better in the turns? do you want to track day our car for SCCA auto cross events?

Depending on what you are looking will greatly determine what you should do or how to balance your mods.

It basically is. not sure if it adds larger sway bars, but it is lower and more sporty springs and dampers. Its only $200-300 and is a great refesh to a 10 year old suspension

I have not digged into the turbo world yet as I am still a few years off from getting one. Some of these questions will be better in the forced induction setting.

For the Price of a Transmission you could probably buy a Used ZX3 with a 5 speed. You can find them for a grand or so if you look around. If you really like the focus you could start there. If you wanna keep your current car with the Auto but just want to give the red Dragon some more Juice. Here are some things that will make it faster as well as reliability.

General Maintanence
-Motor Mounts' $70 amazon
-Valve Gasket (if you see leaking oil on engine)
-Suspension (Ford Dynamic and SVT) $300-450
-Tie rod end links
-Fuel Filter
-Synthetic oil

Power Adders
-Intake , AEM or volant, find used (AEM Cold air $230 on Amazon)
-SVT Header Swap , Find used
-Cat back Exhaust, Just buy one
-Milled Head, find a shop to do it for $50
-Tom's Tune, Pay to Play $420
-WideBans O2, pay to play
-Stage 2 cams and Adj Cam Gears - Amazon (comp and OBX)

Shop right and you can have a great Car. People with these mods make around 140-150 at the Wheels what is equivalent to a 170HP Focus. Same as an SVT.

I've tries to turbo a zx2 with the zetec, and its not worth the money and heartache to bother trying. For the price, you could buy a much better/faster/reliable car.

Stick with the rest of the above advice... headers, exhaust, tuner, intake. I probably wouldn't go with cams unless you have a dyno readily available. My buddy (intense car guru, has built many including mustang, s2000, Tiburon, wrx) wouldn't even cam his. Said it wasn't worth the money. Good luck making decisions!
