Yeah when I order mine I'm going to test some things to see if I can like you said leave something unplugged to keep the LEDS off.

Hey I see you have the 3d carbon kit, do you think a new 4 piece kit for $300 Obo is a good deal?

If it's brand new yeah that's a pretty good deal, I bought the 6 piece for 600-700 brand new.

Moved to MkII Focus section.

Most of the info. on aftermarket lights is here, so better for reference.

I know this conversation has gone quite a ways but i thought id add my 2 cents here....
I had this very problem with my projectors a while back both plugs had melted , i ended up ordering H9 pigtails off eBay to fix this issue .
I plan on a HID kit down the road but this was a cheep salution to get me thru in the mean time . Just food for thought... Ran me about 10 bucks to get both headlights operational again

The halogens run waaaay hotter then HIDs. I've never heard of HIDs getting hot enough to melt a plug.

Wondering if you/could help me. I swapped out the inverter in order to fix a pair of my LEDs and then the halo and the LEDs that don't turn on both didn't turn on. I then used a second inverter and my ccfl turned on but the led still didn't. Any idea what's going on?

I'm not exactly sure, did you check all your wires and connections to make sure they are sealed tightly? I haven't bought new inverters yet for mine so I don't know.

Yeah I did but still was a no go. Might be an internal issue. I'm guessing something's up with the resistors?

Maybe, I'm not too knowledgable on electrics with cars and lighting. If you figure out what's wrong I would like to know, because I actually want to have the LEDS off and only have the halo rings on. The extra LEDs are getting old to me.
