I think i forgot how to log

Its been a few years since ive done any logging on my laptop ive forgot how to even do it.

I think im missing some steps.

I never get the red button so i can start logging.

Im having an issue when my car is cold and its below 30 my car will rev up to like 3000rpm and hang there for a few seconds and then slowly drop back down in stages till it starts to idle normally.

I know this is killing my engine because some times its been sitting for a few days and i know the oil has ran down into the pan and its dry and reving at 3k when its cold with no oil is not good.

I need to get this fixed

Im doing everything in the 101 instructions but i have forgot the steps i think to get it to start recording.

I hook up the SCT device and as it boots im loading windows on my laptop. Then i plug in the USB tot he SCT and then to the laptop. Then i plug in the wideband to the SCT.

I open livewire and once i get to the load screen i load my engine log list file.

I never get the record button but i think ive forgot a step after that.

Sometimes i get a popup that asks if i want to connect to my engine and i thought i select no because i have my own log list?

I also forgot where the key needs to be. In the acc position or in the run position?

I remember in the past i use to be able to log data then start the car where i would get no data then when it starts all the display meters on the livelink would then start showing readings.

I figured it out, i always do that.

I throw a little fit then give it some thought and usually can figure it out.

Im using this little netbook to log with and its only got 2 USB ports on it. Ive been usign the same USB port and last time i had issues with it finding the device drivers for it.

I found a program that clears the USB device drivers and let it find and install new drivers for the SCT device and it worked right off.

Only problem its not cold now, i logged 2 data files but it doesnt have the issue when its above like 30-40 degrees its only when its below a certin temp and its been sitting overnight. Below freezing maybe?
