Angry best antenna upgrade - another car wash victim

The car-wash broke off my antenna, so it's time for an upgrade. The threaded male coupling broke off within the base so I'll have to replace that too. What recommendations can you make for improved FM reception?

well iv run my stereo without the top piece and get local stuff good, but when i put a new top peice on (without the antenna) i can get stuff thats a good 30 - 45 min drive away good. I have a short 4.5inch antenna coming in the mail from ebay and i know its cheap but i get my station (the one thats 30 - 45 min away) good now so im sure it wont make it worse.

It should be easy to get the stub of the broken off antenna out. A small drill bit and an eazy out screw extractor and it is done that screw part left is not in there very tightly.. Buy a short stubby antenna off eBay like the other member here did.

This in an MK1 Svt so they didn't have satellite radio and used a different style of antenna. Don't know how the Mk3's are hooked up.

Thanks everyone for your help. It will be good to have my radio back. I live in a rural area so there aren't any stations within 20 miles.
