Weight loss is good for performance obviously, but there's no magical equation that turns pounds-lost into horsepower.

No matter what your car weighs, it makes the same amount of horsepower.

That is true my friend, hence "Weight Loss (equivalent) Horse Power" its a rough estimate of real world numbers. Scientific Data is based in Facts. Facts are created through math and real observations.

Somebody out there smarter than me has time to do it just like this guy.
http://www.060calculator.com/ Go ahead and try this and see if this guys magical calculations work when comparing any vehicle on the market. It will probably be accurate within tenths or thousanths of a second.

And for the Magical equation for Weight Loss equivalent HP, I think I already POsted it.

I stripped my 2001 race car and dyno'ed at 109whp. I have won two drivers championships, almost a 3rd(broken suspension) and have racked up many podium finishes in slalom events. I lap Hockenheinring in 2min 30sec +/- and the Nuerburgring in 9min 20sec +/- so I am a firm believer in free HP.

"I" paid to get it there. "I" will be paying to ship it back. It is still there, as it says in my signature. You can see it "really" was there in the avatar. Probably the first US spec Focus on the Ring(s). We lived 45 min from Nuerburgring and 52 min from Hockenheimring.

I was asking because I wanted to know the details because I have plans for a 10 year anniversary to spend about a month in England / Western Europe and would love to take my own car there vs having a rental for 1 month. And while there would love to get my car around there. Having never done it before I really have no idea where to start.

It's imaginary no matter how you try to swing it.

If your car weighs 2800lb and dynos at 110whp, it's still going to have 110whp if it weighs 2300lb.

There is no actual, physical way to turn weight loss into horsepower. It doesn't happen. If you think it does, then you are fooling yourself. It is the epitome of what you might call "Ricer Logic."
