Rear Bumper Cover

Got hit in the back end, created a tear and I want to repair it myself.

What type of plastic are our MK2 bumper covers made out of so that I can purchase the right adhesive?

Has anyone found a good kit or glue?

My tear looks pretty clean and should fit together again nicely.

Thanks.

Ok, can someone recommend plastic welding vs. gluing?

Usually, factory bumpers are polyurethane. You can use a fiberglass repair kit, but that will make the joint more brittle (it'll crack if hit again). I believe there are some urethane repair products.

I'd save money by removing the bumper skin, but would have a body shop repair it. You'll save a bit of money doing the re and re and it'll be done right. Just IMHO.
