Automatic transmission upgrades?

I have a 2010 ford focus se and i was just wondering what type of upgrades are available for the transmission. any help would be awesome. im planning on running 11 psi turbo with some moderate engine upgrades. just wanting to make sure the automatic tranny can handle the power. thanks!

The auto tranny is good to about 220hp then prepare to replace it. From what I have read, even just the stage two turbokit alone will wear it out in less than 100k if you drive it spirited.

You have a couple options

You can get better clutch plates from Alto or Hughes. I put Alto in mine and there was enough space on the stock trans to put in an extra plate.

You can buy a Lentech transmission. There are some good options and I have heard many good things but I personally do not have experience with them. I considered it but I felt the Alto clutch plates were enough for my needs.

i dont remember off the top of my head, but i took a look at lentech's site a while back and i believe it can handle up to 350 safely. Its crazy pricey of course, around 3 grand. I plan on upgrading my tranny to handle more boost in the future. You can run 11 psi with the stage 2 kit just fine. It also comes with a boost controller so just because you can turn it up to 11 doesnt mean it has to be at 11 all the time. I daily mine at about 8.

Try finding a stall, a stall could help. I haven't seen them for these cars. It basically allows your torque converter to lock higher up in the RPM range. This allows higher launches and keeps your power band higher.

That's an item you get built for the application.
Common RWD performance converters for street-strip cars run $300-$1200, full race stuff even more $$$.
Being and uncommon application, I would expect to pay $600 to get a reworked over unit with a "free re-stall" guarantee (most custom converter places do that).

I know what a stall is, I don't know if there is anyone selling one for our cars. Ran a 3300 RPM Stall on my Z28, brought me down from a 13.9 to a 13.2, only the stall.

I would say if we raised the stall point about 1000-1500 rpm's it would be fun to drive but a gas hog compared to stock.
