What is this part & where does it go?

It is a 2002 focus 2.0 L split port. I had to replace the thermostat housing. To do so I had to remove the distributor cap. Putting all back together this piece was left. Now judging by the wire that attaches to it. It mounts to one of the dust mounting bolts. However when I did that it sparks on the dist cap. The ford part number says it is capasitor assy. So where does it go?

My 01 SPI has that bolted to the very top bolt on the coil pack. You should notice a mounting bracket that sticks out behind coil pack.

This mounts with an upper coil pack bolt, a single wire with grey connector plugs into it, the wire comes off the harness that goes over the injector rail to the IMRC, coil, and coolant temp sensor. It reduces RFI from the ignition. Bob Scates, 2000 SPI
