Red face Decided to sell the Focus...

Well we just inherited a '07 Lexus ES350 with less than 18k on it and since this will be the wife's new ride, I think I'll take her '02 Accord EX-L with just under 60k on it as my DD and sell my '07 SES with just over 42k on it.

We used the Focus as our out-of-towner car (we'll now use the Lexus) and since I stopped working in '11, my car really won't see any miles so my decision is to keep the Accord since like the Focus, it's been babied since new. I decided this based on the smoother ride of the Honda (longer wheelbase) and just general overall quality of the Honda build...plus I just put a new set of Michelins on it and a new AC-Delco battery.

I will miss the Focus for it's unique styling and good power/torque but I have no place to house all these cars plus my F-250 and the few musclecars I have left...I need room for the funny car...so something has to go.

I would consider keeping the accord. It will probably depreciate more slowly over the years and be cheap to maintain. But if one is manual and the other isn't I would keep the MTX.

What difference goes it matter if it depreciates slow? Its not like your going to pile on miles or ship it down the the road. I'd pass on both those cars, but thats me. Ship both those cars & get a SS or Super Bee version of the srt8 & be done w/ it.

Both cars are automatics and I probably won't put more than 15k on it for the rest of it's life so that's why the Accord makes more sense.

I've still got musclecars if I want to drive something fast...but none have been started in nearly 4 years so obviously those will go as well...I'm not a kid anymore so driving something fast on the street isn't interesting to me, comfort and a smooth ride is...so that's why the Accord makes more sense.

Besides, all my time, effort and $$$ will be thrown at the funny car and later to restore the last dragster my dad built so priorities have changed for me.

Priorities change, you shouldnt feel bad about it. Havent touched my Skylark in YEARS and don't know what I should do with it.

If your ZX3 was on the east coast and a manual id be interested, still miss mine.

I remember you showing us pics of that dragster. I hope you'll stay on the board even if you don't have a Focus. We're all car people here, so you're welcome to hang out!
