Let's forget the reference to the PT Cruiser as you obviously didn't get it.

The point simply was this: Ford chose not to drop the retro theme. Some people don't like retro and prefer modern/contemporary styling.

The last Mustang that I owned did not have any (interior) retro styling cues.
Did my Mustang not have a "Mustang dash"?

If your last mustang was built between 1974 and 1993, then it wouldn't have because these models were inspired by the fuel crisis. But 1965-1973 and 1994-2014 all have "Mustang" dash designs.

Maybe I didn't get your PT cruiser reference because it didn't make any sense.

When I look at the new interior, I see a silhouette of retro themes, but the materials and large LCD screen along with the plethora of buttons and lights read very modern, so I don't see what the problem is.

In my opinion, if you don't have a drawing or mock-up of the interior EXACTLY as you would like to see it, you don't have a lot of room for complaining.

Now I understand fully...
My Mustang didn't have a real (60's style) Mustang dash but rather it had a "fuel crisis" themed dash.

I suppose you wouldn't get it if it didn't make sense to you.

Agreed, I like the current body style best, this one is not aggressive enough...looks like a fancy fusion.

It seems there are quite a few here that don't like it but I think it looks good.

I would think the problem with designing a mustang is there are two major challenges in the matter.

1. It has to LOOK like a Mustang
2. The Mustang has probably already looked as good and as "Mustang" as it ever will.

Given those restrictions... how is one supposed to go about designing a new model? Sure you could make a beautiful or badass looking car, and then it looks nothing like a Mustang. Or you could design a model that looks like it's been done too many times.

I think they did pretty well with this all things considered.

I agree, but honestly I don't think the mustang could get any better than the current design.

It looks huge to me, though not that bad looking, sure it's got some ugly areas but I'm sure we'll end up liking this one and we will really love it and say this was the turning point in the mustang's history later down the road lol
