A member on the Fiesta ST forum I'm on recently put his FiST on the dyno, whp numbers aren't that great but the torque numbers were pretty impressive.

I'm surprised at the low stock hp number, it's more inline with all the other eco boost 1.6l's. I guess the over boost function wasn't working or something?

Also I heard that even though it redlines @ 7k rpm with the stock tune it won't let you rev beyond 6200 rpms? If so this is a huge no no IMO on Ford. They'd be better to not have a redline on the tach if they are going to do that.

That is true, you get no where near 7k rpm. Overboost kicks in at 6k rpm so he was on it.

Well that sucks and shouldn't be that way on a performance variant of a model. What's the first thing most people do in a car like this? They get on it and take it to the redline and see what it has. Imagine their surprise when they start hitting a rev limiter before they hit the redline. I'd be furious... Still a cool car though and I wouldn't mind having one lol and they sure do sound sweet with an exhaust.

Isn't it supposed to have 190+hp stock? Well I guess that's just what they say lol.

197 hp on "overboost" is measured at the crankshaft not the wheels, as measured in Europe and elsewhere without the overboost that's 179 hp at the crankshaft.

179 hp at the crank shaft is only 10% higher than the measured value at the wheels, which would put the loss at an unrealistic figure.

The Fiesta ST and Focus ST have relatively small turbos.
Because of the small turbos, these engines can produce lots of torque at low RPMs. The tradeoff is that they "run out of steam" near redline.
This should be obvious considering that the HP is quite modest relative to the torque numbers.
Also, consider that the 2.0L EcoBoost is used in SUVs (where low end torque is important).
