01, bought with 60,000. Now has 86,000. To answer some previous questions. Other than "Frag2win," haven't heard of a Focus yet that didn't run. I would think about changing the timing belt soon though, because it is a belt it won't last as long as a chain. I think they recommend replacing it every 90 to 100,000 miles. The water pump is driven by the timing belt so, I'd replace it when I had the timing belt done. It's not to expensive of a job for those who can't do it themselves, I think it's only around 2.6 hrs. labor. Per All Data.

i agree that it should be replaced after 100k miles just for insurance sake........but im pretty sure the serpentine belt drives the water pump....not the timing belt....

2000 ZX3 108,669.7 miles and it runs like a top. I retired my old nissan with 200,000+ on it. A friend owns it now, still runs strong.

1999 zx3 and 150000 km = 93000 miles
I just bought it from Ford dealer. He said that the engine has been changed after 100000 km! He did not know why the old one was broken, but it was replaced by Ford and warranty. I still wanted to bought it because it was so beautiful! and red... New engine has been running now 50000 km and working very well. |
