sounds like it bottoms out

hey guys, i have a 09 SE with around 56k miles on it. when i got over some aggresive bumps, it sounds like the front end ground effect scraps on the ground. also theres one bump where i live (michigan, worst roads possible) where its an aggressive bump and then goes downhill so it sounds like my front end scraps and then in the middle between the tires, it scrapes. im not entirely sure it is scrapping or it just sounds like that. i checked in the middle of the car and i havnt seen any scraps or anything that would make me think it is beaching and scrapping up the middle of the car. the bumps im describing are mildly aggresive, my 95 neon went over those bumps without issues. also, it is getting to be about 10 degrees now so i think it also could be the suspension being cold and creeking, but it sounds like more of a scrap to me.

tldr: sounds like the car is scrapping over mildly aggresive bumps. not sure if the car is scrapping or due to the cold it sounds like it is scrapping or if that is just how all foci are.

anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you checked the front of the car? Could be the shrould that hangs down a tad bit at the rear edge. I'd try to avoid that road if possible.

check the wheel wells for scuff marks from the tires

otherwise, grab a buddy and have him stand on the side of the road and watch you go over the bump. He should be able to see/hear better than you.

ok, sorry guys. been working a lot and had completely forgot i had started this thread.

well i have updates. it has warmed up since i last messaged on here. the sound has stopped which leads me to think that i never actually was botteming out. is there some bushings or something that you guys know of that could creek like that when it gets really cold out?

id like to replace it to stop that annoying noise.
