Too cold, snow, wind etc. My carport took it all in stride so the yellow one wasnt sure what all the fuss was about. Picked up a NIB CFM throttle body. Getting ready to order up some rear suspension pieces that will go in when the duratec tank goes in.

Not much to report, just have those slow weeks here and there. Actually i will say that i could have ordered much more but as of this week i am ring shopping. Happy times.

day11 -- Rip apart another one...

day11 - She was confused. What all the fuss about bad weather was about while in her hut. Also why when the weather
broke that she wasn't getting worked on.

day11 - Because it was now time to being the heart transplant procedure courtesy of this one.

day11 - A red tag sale of another kind hath begun.

day11 - Sequence of photos laying out where they all went....

day11 - Cont'd...

day11 - Cont'd...

day11 - Cont'd some more...

day11 - Needed a break from all the wiring, so chops away...

day11 - More of the same.

day11 - After a lotta fussing and a quick decision to take the upper support out, it was finally free of that POS thing
called a manifold.

day11 - Now we have some daylight.

day11 - What a pile...

day11 - On through the night...

day11 - That exhaust manifold was eating at me and i know i need the room.

day11 - So i got it out. Yes you may have seen from earlier that i cut it before the flange thus to preserve this header
i'll have to reweld it back on. Can be done, i was simply thinking zetec and that there was another connection upstream
from the flex. Oh well. Another POS.

day11 - Ah. More room.

day11 - Onward and forward to the axles. Gettin a bit tired and forgetting steps i usually know albeit slightly different on
these 05+ units.

day11 - But i did finish the day with the passenger CV out. That is when i remembered i forgot to drain the fluid outta the
mtx75. Time to quit.

day11 - Well didn't get her free, but she is very close to being free. Driver's CV and shifter cables are about all that are
in the way of a full pull. -R

What are you going to use for your i/m? Cossie or knockoff or weapon r, perhaps? BTW that 23 i/m works pretty good, except for the imrc, aka tumble flaps. Its similar to the svt one, but is vacuum operated vs a electric motor. If your going to use a header, I'd use part of that manifold insulation. Its a 3 peice part.

OK that'd work. Love the look. What are you doing for cams? & of course you'd be using the fwerks header. EGR delete perhaps? & of course your doing a bsd plug, huh? Windage tray perhaps? What other motor mods?

Chewing on it all. Would have liked that TS manifold and bigger header but seems theyve been lost to the hands if time. So the Cosworth and randy's stuff the entire way out the back is likely unless i must have a 3" exh. Cfm, kn, or randy again breathing in. Already got a new cfm tb for the cosworth.

Not certain this engine will see the project I might do something thru gold coast or have this one completely worked over at a machine shop in state.
So the balance shaft thing would be at the mercy of doing a Ranger crank instead which is very likely. Absolutely on the tray.

Oh hell yes the EGR is going I hate ford egr always have always will and in fact I just found a new Zetec block off plate in amongst my tools.

Of course I'll be getting the cylinder head worked over so with this I'm at Crane three. I'm open to opinion but i think Crane three is what is lining up.

We might use this engine to figure out if we need a remote oil filter (is so how and where) or if we can reengineer the traction bars.

The MTX is likely going up to Terry Haines to be redone and have it's Torsen which I have fitted new flywheel clutch pressure plate good stuff of course.

I'm going to have to make a decision on whether to do it in phases or just to take more time and do it up how I wanted from the word go. so I may do a deal where I have a running car that I modify or take the time and end up working on it bit by bit to end up with a monster.

R

PS- I'd be lying if i said i hadnt thought about 12.99 NA.

Seems like you want to go all out. If your great putting motors together, then I would vs buying one built. If thats the case, I'd mock up the motor in the car & get that one runnning & then install your built motor.

day12 - Well to finish this engine pull off today. 1st up, out come some bicycle tools for an obvious task involving fluid.

day12 - By myself all day today so i had to improvise.

day12 - ...and improvise...

day12 - ... and big hoss.

day12 - Now the driver's axle is free to be punched out from the diff case.

day12 - Here she is. Getting close now.

day12 - So nice this weekend getting back into the 50s, i opened the door again.

day12 - Sure lotta stuff going on here with foci.

day12 - But i did take a few minutes to make sure i knocked all the salt of this one i drive each day.

day12 - This lil girl got to take it easy today.

day12 - Here comes the hoist.

day12 - Took time to pull the alternator, tensioner pulley, and misc brackets for room.

day12 - Said pile of extras taking up space.

day12 - Noticed i had a layer of dust etc on my phone and then the pix cleared up. Getting ready to pull.

day12 - Not long now... But i need a break.

day12 - Another pile of stuff.

day12 - Well a lil later now and chaining up i saw i had forgotten this. Lucky catch.

day12 - Put the front suspension back together on both sides loose just for rolling car around driveway like the
yellow one.

day12 - We have weight.

day12 - I snapped this thinking back to last nite when we kicked this side about an inch further to help clear the
header on its exit.

day12 - turn and down on the floor now.

day12 - Slide her out under the front bumper and now an empty bay. Up in full on the jacks and deflate the rear tires.

day12 - So a Duratec 23 and MTX75 CAN come out the bottom of the car without a Lift TOGETHER.

day12 - So now the transplant of wiring and accessories can commence. Meanwhile i have some decisions to make about
this lump.

Who needs the super bowl. -R
