I just looked through all your pictures again. You should use the donor car's subframe. Take it off clean it up replace the bushings and put some good coats of paint or powder coat it. Then it will look nice and last a much longer time.

i'm going to buy a new piece. the donor was rear ended. minor yes, but i'm taking no chances. it was a bit better but i wont chance bent/tweaked. -R

Sat down and mapped out my plan of action for the drive train. This does not address the suspension, exterior, interior, weight savings, drag setup, or extras but simply the business end right now.

Engine Phase One

2.3 Engine and MTX75 Health Synopsis (To be performed in the donor car)

Inspect/Replace Following:
-Gaskets
-Seals
-Belts/Chains
-Plugs
-Lines
-Electrics
-Oil/Fluids
-Filters
-Clutch
-Fuel Sys
-ECU DTC checks

-Dyno Test -- Baseline Engine while in donor car.

Engine Phase Two

2.3 Engine Bolt-on Modifications (May begin in donor car but will conclude in Yellow Honey)

-Pullies
-Intake
-BSD
-Baffle
-Breathers
-EGR
-Header
-Exhaust
-ECU Tune Initial

Engine Phase Three point one

2.3 Engine Long Block Modifications/Alterations (Yellow Honey, running state dependent on engine block decision)

-Short Block Decision (GP prebuilt unit or a GP rebuild kit for present block)

Engine Phase Three point two

2.3 Engine Long Block Modifications/Alterations (Yellow Honey, running state dependent on engine block decision)

-Head
-Valvetrain
-Cams/Sprockets
-Intake Manifold
-Throttle Body
-MAF?
-Motor Mounts
-Engine drive accessory, pumps, cooling systems etc replacement
-ECU Final Tune

MTX75 Buildup for Finished 2.3 Engine

Engine Phase Five*

2.3 Engine Extreme Drag Race setup

-ITB
-Increased Cam
-Intake/Exhaust Size Increase
-Custom Engine Mgmt

(*Optional)


Again this does not address a suspension setup (coilovers), drag tuning (slicks, airbags, insulators, traction bars, bushings etc), interior (seats, weight reduction), exterior (new bumpers, headlights, fresher paint, dent repair), and other miscellaneous tasks beyond the swap itself. But laying down the foundation for the drivetrain.

My goals at present are as follows:

-Financial
<$1 on my credit card.

-Drag
Trap >100mph

-Social
Have the important function of this project complete such as to be able to drive to FR14 1st wk of June.



i'll take .02 on this but i wanted to give people an idea of how far i do now wanna go with my very bright Yellow Honey. It will take time and i will hopefully have a very nice journal outta this by its completion.

That's a good idea as well. With all the other mods being done might as well be sure it won't crap out on you due to rust. Keep up the good work!

It's a Duratec, chain driven. You can't see them and there's no real need for them.
