1.8 tddi mods HELP !!

hi , my name is luke , i am new to this site and would like to ask abit of help from you guys , i have a 2001 ford focus 1.8tddi

first i would like to no how you properly fit a manual boost controller , i have installed one following the instructions i received with the controller but some how when i turn it up for more boost the boost cuts off around 3.000 rpm instead of 4.500 rpm , even with the slightest adjustment there is still no gain please could someone help me with this ?

secondly i'd like to no what sort of modifications i could do to the engine to gain more power without it being really pricey or having to focus of the internals etc .and if its worth fitting a bov , ive heard fitting them on diesels are different ??
im not that great with cars/engines etc , i like to try do most things myself so all help is much appreciated , thanks

You cannot just turn up the boost , you have to have a tune or as soon as the ECU sees more boost it will turn off the boost

You need to start with a tune , we dont have the tddi engine here in the US
