Where should I cut my stock shifter?

Hey guys, I want to make my stock shifter shorter so where do I cut it?

Don`t cut till you can taper and rethread for the handle..If you wanna go that route..Just save up and get a short shifter.

becareful on the short shifter.. i heard for the focus youll miss gears at the drop of a dime

I would cut it where the threads start or just below that. just add an aftermarket knob and your good.
