It'll look good as long as you spray some clear down and finish it off with the polish. I also wet sanded to start off.

Lately, I've been contemplating potential heat soak issues that could pose problems during the summer months. The number one right now that I'm addressing is the engine cover. While it looks great it gets HOT! I removed the insulation on the underside and replaced it with high heat reflective tape. While it may only help marginally it's a step in the right direction because temps will soon be at 99f w/100% humidity. I'll be dropping the spoiler off this morning for the respray. Hopefully, it's a same day process.

Can't go wrong with a white Focus. I love the '12+ in white.

And the mods you have done so far are great.

Thanks for the compliments!!! Manic, I bought the engine cover used off of a forum member for $50. You can purchase them new from autoanything.com I believe for around $80 (est.). The 20% tint looks perfect my only complaint is it gets somewhat tricky to see out the driver/passenger sides at night without any streetlights around.

I'll be painting the newer oem 17" wheels I posted sometime in the next month or so. I'm really looking forward to it because I can't stand the wheels that are currently on it.

Chick, just realized you have 60,000 posts!!! :-O

Just got my ST spoiler back from getting resprayed at the paint shop. The first two pictures are of the spoiler before it went in.

And the fresh paint came out as seen here. For $150 I can't complain....

Car looks great man. I like the upgrades so far. White is by far the best color for the new focus. Keep up the good work man.

After getting quotes in Texas for powder coating wheels in the $400-$500 price range I had decided to paint the wheels instead. However, I've since moved to Florida and was please to get a quote on powdercoating all 4 wheels for $300. Come pay day, next Friday I'm probably going to drop the wheels off to get them powder coated white. Oem FTW! Haha

On a different note I picked up a bottle of iron x to try and adress the issue of rail dust on the hatch area. It's been there since day one but I'm hoping I can reverse the effects:

Steeda was kind enough to send me out some cleaning supplies for the intake.

I also had concerns about an engine cover and retaining heat and right now I'm leaving the engine topless.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about even removing the underhood insulation to reduce any unwanted heat accumulation:

I really don't care for the routing design on the windshield washer tubing though.

Decent photo I took this morning at work. I dipped the lower valences white. It looks good from far but far from good lol. I'll throw some more pictures up later.
