LEDs

Not knowing too much about LEDs, I'm looking for some really bright LEDs to replace the ones in the contraption I got from LEDVisionz. They state that the LEDs are 10k mcd. I have the red version and I can't see squat other then the light as it hits the lens. The light can barely be seen on your hand as it sits on the gear shift. It has 3 LEDs in a serial configuration. They look to be 5mm.

So, I'm looking for something that is brighter then what it is in it. I've seen on some sites 1W LEDs, but not sure if they would suit the application. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

This is a great site for LED's. They have a bunch of different kinds, good tutorials on wiring and powering, and they're cheap to boot.

i placed an order last week from them for a blue dome light, i have still not got any conformation from them that it has shipped, if it was in stock or anything. only thing i know is that the paypal payment went through monday. no return on an e-mail. i hope i have better luck but after reading this i am not expecting to much... will update after install

where are these led's going?

also it's important to note the voltage for the leds. some run on 3 volt, 12volt.

blue led's that I can vouch for come off ebay, they are like $3 each which is expensive, But it's a 12v prewired with a resistor, shrink-wrapped for protection, 3 feet of wire, and a mounting hardware for a flush mount, or flat mount (horizontal).

I just picked up a blue dome LED lamp from ozium.com or something of that degree... I forgot the name of the site, bit it is almost as bright as they show in the pics... I like it.

well at least i did get an e-mail, said i did echeck? but i clicked and paypaled through my paypal account so not sure what happened there, said it shipped yesterday... will wai and see how long it takes and what the quality is when i get it.

go to wal mart... i know and they have a led for the headlights and buy it in red or blue and just wire it up to the two prongs it works good. i am waiting for it to get dark to see how it looks but if you know how you can up the wattage right before the light... if you know how tell me so it will hold the 10 watts that is stock plus its only 7 something with tax it works like a charm
