Removing Interior Parts

I'm not ready for major changes yet, but I'm ready to do something.

1. I have the red Eject button power outlet cover from my 2005 mustang. I would really like to put it in the power outlet between the seat heater wheels. I need to remove the little plastic cover first. Has anyone does this?

2. What about the rubber pieces inside the cup holder that holds your drinks in place? Mine have already punctured a couple Styrofoam cups, making a mess in my cup holders. Any ideas or recommendations?

Thanks for the input!

The centre console has the plastic flaps plastic welded in place. It's easy enough to pull the centre console out but there are lots of steps
