when my 2012 focus transmission lost 3 gears out of 6, 3 weeks after I bought it, ruining a ski trip I had planned for a year, the ford dealer gave me a loaner no questions asked.

Go buy a space heater for your car that plugs into a power outlet. Return it when the part comes in. I didn't read the other replies because I don't care.

Windshield frost over. Visibility is reduced. You cant see and crash. I smell lawsuit. Try asking again for a loaner.

The person operating the vehicle is responsible for its safe operation. If you can't see out of a frosted-over windshield and drive the car anyway then the consequences are all yours. (I think I learned that in traffic school.) A lawsuit against the carmaker or dealer over that would be ridiculous. A lawsuit against the negligent operator would be more believable.

Either way. Still not fixed. No word from dealer, and it's -35 with the windchill here tonight. I drive around in a full snow suit to get to work.. It's cold, but I scrape and see fine. I breathe out off to the side to keep frost down :p

What a bummer. I had a good laugh about breathing out of the side of your mouth though! You have more patience than me.

Do you have anything up there like the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act we have down here? That would be something you should be able to sue Ford over, despite the wording in the "Ford Warranty guide" that suss6052 quoted above.

Is that -35 with the windchill while you're standing still? If so, it's even worse at the speeds you'd be driving. You must be one of those Iditarod guys to survive that.

Your vehicle now does not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (or in your case Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard) 103 for windshield defrost performance. This alone should be grounds for a rental until yours is fixed. I'm sorry you're having that problem, climate issues always suck to fix, as your dashboard will have to be removed to get at this actuator.

Mine didn't have functioning seatbelts for half a year and ford wouldn't do anything about it. I went threw the Canadian version of lemon law (CAMVAP) and lost based on the statement "it's normal" even when the physical evidence proves otherwise.

Good luck getting them to put it all back together without introducing new problems. Rattles and squeeks at a minimum. Once when I took a dashboard apart to install an alarm system I decided I never wanted to do that again. It took a long time to get everything back together correctly, and someone working on the clock isn't as likely to do it as carefully as someone who is working on their own car.
