New SVT Focus owner.

I just purchased my svt 2 weeks ago and it came with a stage 1 clutch and flywheel by cfm, steeda intake, drilled and slotted all around, lower engine mount, cfm short shifter, and it also has a tune on it. He didn't have the tuner because he had it tuned by focus power. The cel came on today while I was driving. I think it might be a sensor. But my real question is could i just buy a tuner and be able to use that to tune my car and scan for codes as well? Also which tuner is best for my 2002 svt?
I really like this car so I want to keep it running good.

Great. Congrats. You can get an SCT tuner and use that. Since it has a tune from focus-power already, you can probably buy the handheld from him (Tom, Focus-Power).

I can help you with a new flasher and tune

To get the new flasher to work you will need to take your SVT to Ford to get a reflash back to stock then you can tune again

Tom

Yeah exactly what tom said. Basically the guy that sold u the car without the flasher screwed u. U might be out $1,000 by the time ford charges to flash the computer back to stock and buy another flasher

Can't you get the flasher from the guy you buought it from? I'd be trying to get it from him. You can scan for codes w/ a scanner or ids w/ a tune.

In most cases Ford charges 75-125.00 to do a reflash then the xcal

I agree try to get it from the guy you bought it from , if the tune is still loaded to your car then the xcal is nothing more then a datalogger to him he cannot tune another car with it

Hopefully you don't have bigger problems than a tune.
