Just a fun little car to drive! 2011 se

I have the 5 speed... And I have to admit... The damn thing is so fun to drive... My last car was a 2007 hatch focus. I liked that car, but the tranny started to fail a second time it had to go. Man am I glad I went with the manual this time.

I still have my first vehicle, a 96 ranger, 5 speed. Just got done driving it for a week solid in Cleveland traffic ( had to buy a rim for the focus) and I love that old truck but it is a pain in traffic, the focus manual is much more pleasant.

A guy at work always give me shit about my car, says I should have bought a WRX , but the hell with that.... This thing is way more comfortable . I would much rather flog this thing than never be able to "get on" a car that is way to fast.

I must say, I do stomp on it a lot tho... I hope the tranny holds up.... Don't care about the motor... Shoot I can buy a motor for like 300 bucks around here. Perks of buying a common car! Parts are cheap.

No, not really any bug plans... I want a subwoofer in a custom enclosure some day. I'm my into fuel economy and just being an all around cheap to own car. Purchased a few months ago with 50 thousand on it

We have the same car!

Put a rear sway bar on ... HUGE HUGE HUGE difference in how the car drives and feels!

I'm not a huge fan of the transmission - mine doesn't like to shift into second gear. You won't hurt anything by being hard on the car except for motor mounts. Mine already needs them at 37K!

^ Make that a trio! And I thought I had a rare combo. Did you use the Steeda retrofit kit? I'm trying to resist modding this car, but it's begging for a rear sway.

OP, car looks sharp! Manual is certainly the way to go :D

I had a friend of mine weld tabs to the frame to mount the sway bar instead of using the Steeda kit. Then I repainted the frame after.

I got swaybar, bushings, brackets and one end link (yes, only one) from the junkyard for $15. Other end link was $10 and the tabs welded on were $40.

I believe that a rear sway bar was optional on SE models, but standard on SES models. That being said, if you already have a rear sway bar, can you simply upgrade to a Steeda or FSwerks one?

I think it was standard on SE coupes and SES's, not sure if it was optional on S or SE sedans. Mine for sure doesn't have one, though. I'll probably try the Steeda kit sometime soon. If you already have a bar, upgrading shouldn't be a problem, as long as those bars come with the new bushings (and maybe brackets?) you'll need. Most kits do.

I'll have to look if I have one... Is it worth replacing if I have a factory on?

Purely depends on how you drive it. Come thanksgiving break I'm installing my frpp suspension and shortly after that, all the sway bars and strut braces will be installed and upgraded.
