Volvo "Cygnus" wheels on a Mk3

in case anyone was curious what it looked like to put stock Volvo wheels on a Mk3 Focus - i just mounted new Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2's on Volvo "Cygnus" wheels to use on my Ti in the winter.

these wheels:

6.5Jx16x52.5 http://girder.net/focus/volvo.wheels.3.jpg

look like this:

tires are 205/60-16. technically 1.1% larger diameter than my stock handling package 235/40-18. but when you look at them side-by-side:

tire measuring math is funny.

Nokians are great. The last set I had had 90% of the tread left and had traveled 50k miles. They are pretty amazing in the snow as well.

besides learning about the different Volvo models and their hub bores, the most difficult part of this was learning how to spell Hakkapeliitta.

thanks, i was on the fence about where to put it. on one hand, it's wheels and tires. on the other hand, it's only of interest to mk3 ppl. at least it's searchable if anyone is curious. :)

no way anyone can visually look at a tire and say its 1% larger/smaller lol..you can get that big of difference through the first 5k miles i bet haha
1% is pretty good, my winter wheels were closer to 4-5%
